The significance of colour for preaching and chakra meditation has been there since the times immemorial, as has been their relevance even for those people who haven’t chosen to undertake preaching. The author with its wise readers would today like to plunge into the relevance of these colours, and why specific colours are associated with meditation. Depending upon the intensity or level of the disciple, the colour of the attire was decided, but since the commercialisation of the path of preaching and meditation, a definite colour has been embarked for the people who are undertaking the path, like in the buddhist system of preaching the use of saffron colour is associated with the monks whereas in hindu school of thought, the use of yellow is done, both of these colours are associated with a certain frequency and a particular chakra in the body, saffron is related to sacral whereas yellow is associated with solar plexus.

As specifically defined in the scriptures, there are seven different colours which are associated with the chakras, VIBGYOR, as defined in the engineering terms, have different frequencies and these seven different colours depict different effects on the body and also in the life of the individual. As would be known to the wise readers as is also enshrined in the scriptures, that root chakra is associated with red colour, saffron for sacral chakra, yellow for solar plexus, green/ white for heart chakra, blue for throat, indigo for third eye and purple for crown chakra, during the times when meditation wasn’t a commercial activity and the people who undertook this path, the masters used to evaluate the disciple ( by making use of astrology) before deciding upon, the start point, including the colour of the attire which the disciple would be wearing, and this colour of the attire and other practices changed with the graduation of the student from one chakra to another. As described in the scriptures, the placement of sun, moon, saturn, Jupiter and mars (denoting earth, water, fire, ether and space) were evaluated and then the colour of the attire and the syllabus for the disciple was decided, as during those days the wonderfulness of life was paramount, but now the emphasis has changed to having wonderful things instead of making the life wonderful, without any condiments. Returning back to the original topic, saffron colour, which is associated with sacral chakra, helps in controlling the water element, which like earth covers around 72.2% of your body, as as elaborated in astrology is responsible for the mood and the temperament of the individual, as this element has maximum effect on the disciple ( during the initial stages, till it is not mastered) the process reflects on the colour of the attire to be worn when undertaking the process of activating sacral chakra. If the disciple is able to master the sacral chakra, then the graduation apart from the inner energies, there is also change in colour of the attire, in which yellow colour forms the attire, and sun energy within (the solar plexus) is stimulated and colour of the attire is one of the assistants, and then so on and so forth (the author abstains from elaborating the chakras any further, as it is not advisable to undertake their activation without “expert” supervision, as it involves life energies, performing the wrong way can also be life threatening)

As in todays world the people have become so busy and are entangled in making the accessories of the life better, that there is sense of lack of time for their own well being, due to which the modern masters (author no different) due to conservative time frame available with the enthusiast of meditation, have tried to make the delivery of peace and stability, in parallel to having a pizza, which takes 30 minutes for home delivery. The author isn’t against anything but just wants its readers to think, we are at the junction where technology is at its best (compared to what the forefathers would have), but is present day life better than what these ancestors would have lived? All these things contribute to your life, like money, wealth, fame but should not be taken as life, as life is independent of all these, the author humbly urges its wise readers to try and make their lives better.
